About Me:

I am currently in the Marine Corps stationed in Iwakuni, Japan - which is about 30 minutes by train from Hiroshima.  I am learning more every day about life, but I love every minute I get!

Let me see…what else would someone want to know about me…

I finish my bachelor's degree in April (extremely excited - it only took eight years so my parents are equally thrilled) and I am planning for graduate studies once I end my active service with the Marine Corps.  I want to become a Professor of literature and I am still working on the best way to get there.  I adore East Asian Studies (my minor) and would love to teach East Asian literature, creative writing (my deep passion) and just literature and writing in general.  Anyone that has advice in this arena is more than welcome to respond (I am getting antsy trying to figure out how I should accomplish this).  I have been going all over the internet trying to determine if Comparative Literature, general English, East Asian Studies or some combination of each would best serve my purpose.  But here I am digressing (something that all of my friends are used to by now)…

Hmm…I am working hard to become more aware of who I am, where I am headed and how I am going to get there.  My boyfriend is extremely supportive of everything I dream about and helps me in any way he can.  He truly is a light in my life.  Thankfully, he is stationed here with me for at least the next nine months.

I am working towards a few goals right now and I am trying to focus on only a few so that I can really achieve those goals and then add more.  I welcome all new friends and look forward to many connections growing in the time to come!
